The "Good" List

Lately, we have been getting bogged-down by some of the not-so-good-things going on around us. To try and combat the stress and the onslaught of negativity in order to hang on to our "newlywed glow", we decided to focus on the good. We are making a point to be more thankful for the good things that God has blessed us with. Here is a list of "the good" in our life together, or the highlights of our first few weeks as a married couple...
  • Dinner dates with both sets of families several times lately. We are so blessed to have such supportive and loving families living so close to us.
  • Callie's impromptu day-trip out of town with Chase's mom, grandmother and sister to shop for a bridesmaid dress & flowers for Heather & Josh's wedding turned into a a very pleasant day full of shopping, eating (A LOT), and great conversation. SO much fun!
  • The Walking Dead started again last night. Lounging on the couch together and catching up with our TV shows always makes us happy.
  • A very good friend of ours is moving a little closer to home, so we're very excited! ...We're also very excited that she will be in a cooler city so we know we'll be finding reasons to go visit more often. :)
  • Heather and Josh are moving right along with the construction on their new home! They have concrete now...YAY!
  • We had friends over at the house this weekend...ALWAYS a good time.
  • The weather started cooling off again, and it actually feels like February, now! :)
  • Callie spent Sunday afternoon with little cousin Tori mastering the art of the one-turn in baton twirling. Can't help but smile at that.
  • Things are moving right along at 1882. They are making great strides with the inventory, set-up and computer system and we're looking forward to it opening sometime early next month.
  • We are husband and wife...and that is AWESOME.
We are so incredibly blessed, and we're trying to make sure that we take the time to focus on that rather than the little things that inevitably go wrong. We're so lucky to have our fantastic families, wonderful friends, good jobs, a great little home, a crazy but lovable dog, and - most importantly - each other.
